Loving the Dirty Laundry Series!

Wow! Another great book in this series! I must say when this comes out in paperback or trade I may have to buy it just so I can cuddle with the whole series. I'm telling you it will. Carina would be crazy not to print this series in one book!
Jarod...James...whatever you want to call him-is scrumptious! Sigh. Smart, sexy, dominating, sweet...everything I want in a man. Real or imagined. Nora was great as a heroine. Strong and smart....and ultimately forgiving. The phone sex was HAWT...and so was the laundry room. Yikes! May have to make DH call me and talk dirty so we can meet in some random laundry room somewhere and play. :D Okay...that's not happening but this book will make you wanna. Go read it!

Can you imagine losing notes that reveal your deepest, darkest desires? That's what happened to Nora MacGregor. She is working on her dissertation and she loses not only her research but personal notes that reveal some of her own desires. She is frantic to find them. She is shocked one night when she receives a phone call from an anonymous male who claims to have her notes. He will give them back to her one page at time for every question she answers.
The only bright spot at the university where Jarod is teaching is the girl he watches twice a week doing laundry. He doesn't know who she is and finally gathers the courage to meet her. After a disastrous meeting, he finds her notes and research lying on the ground and decides to use them to his advantage.
Through "James" both Nora and Jarod are able to live out their fantasies they are too scared to acknowledge they have. By day they are meeting for coffee and getting to know each other. At night they are having hot, steamy phone sex.
I love the connection between the two. Jarod is truly interested in Nora and wants to learn more about her. They make each other laugh and enjoy being together. James allows them to have the sexual chemistry and play their fantasies out. They can say and do what they want because it's anonymous and they won't be judged for their actions.
Once she knows the truth, I love how Jarod gets Nora to tell him the rest of her secret fantasy. He is determined to be the one she is dreaming about, not James. The ending is great and it was definitely worth the wait for these two to actually hook up.

Pleasant Surprise!

Uptight biologist Nora MacGregor has never been truly satisfied by a man yet spends her time working on her dissertation on female sexuality. Frustrated Dr. Jerod Reed sees Nora walk by his classroom window every Tuesday and Thursday evening promptly at five, right in the middle of the English class he instructs. In a moment of impulsiveness, he dismisses his class at 4:59 and rushes outside to finally meet the mystery woman. He finds her, with a spilled basket of laundry and a can of pepper spray in hand, ready for use. She leaves, but he has her name off her name tag and something else-- notes and a cassette tape of interviews essential to her dissertation. He tracks her down to return her items but instead gets a coffee date for the next day.
After reading her notes and her own unfinished handwritten fantasy, he calls her, but his allergies are on overdrive causing his voice to deepen. Nora doesn't recognize who has called her and, against all caution, he tells her his name is James. He says he has her notes and will return them, three pages at a time for every intimate question she answers. It doesn't take long for Nora to beg Jame to "talk dirty to me" while struggling with her growing feelings for Jarod.
I loved this novella. It was extremely well written and a delightful combination of sweet and sexy. When Nora discovers Jarod and James are really the same person, her "revenge" is perfect. The wait for their eventful get together is worth every page. I understand one reviewer's unease over a "stranger" calling her and being so intimate. But it was the fact she *didn't* know the real person that allowed her to let her guard down and become uninhibited. This the very reason people will bare their souls to nameless strangers on the internet instead of someone in the next room. In my opinion, James and Nora aren't different than any other couples in erotica when the heroine has a sexual encounter with a "stranger" within hours of meeting him. The only difference is "James" didn't have a face and a body to go with his sexy voice.
I look forward to reading more from Inez Kelley!
