This book is well written. I get the impression that the author is VERY intelligent but seems to intuitively know how to make the complex simple for those of us who are less familiar with the concepts. It is by no means lightweight reading but by taking time to concentrate on what is being said the complex is made relatively simple. A must have for any tree diagnostician.

It a good book, but it is hard to read, at least for me. I checked it out at the Library. I have no idea why the cost is so much, since the book retails for $63, it must be out of print or something. I wonder how hard it is to convert to ebook. Its not something that can make or break your tree service, but its a good reference book. Much like an encyclopedia, but if you have experience falling trees or read the ISA manual thoroughly, this book would not be necessary.

Лето 1945-го года.
Пожар прошелся по Европе. Стерлись старые границы государств и новые еще не родились. Миллионы людей бродят по Европе в поисках родителей, братьев, сестер, а так-же в поисках своего прошлого. В Кремле не спит Сталин, размышляя о будущих операциях против своих вчерашних союзников. Какие планы приходят Сталину на ум в эти поздние часы ночи?
Главный герой книги – доктор Лустиг, заведующий Еврейской клиникой в Берлине, просуществовавшей до конца войны. Доктор Лустиг – фигура неоднозначная, он – один из редких евреев, который сотрудничал с немцами. Работавший под началом Эйхмана, Лустиг самолично составлял списки евреев к отправке в Аушвиц… Но, жертвуя частью своих сотрудников, он спасал оставшихся. Как личность неординарная, он и заинтересовал Сталина. В конце войны по его приказу советская разведка похищает Лустига и привозит его в Москву. Он становится заключенным Лефортова. Но заключенным на особом положении. Ему показывают все пыточные ухищрения советской карательной системы, однако самого его оставляют лишь зрителем. Так проходит психологическая обработка Лустига, который теоретически хорошо знаком и с другой пыточной системой – гестапо.
Зачем Сталину понадобился доктор Лустиг? Вынашивая планы на мировое господство, Сталин видит Ближний Восток и будущий Израиль – лишь как средство стравить народы Востока и Запада, как источник перманентной войны. Выступая за создание еврейского государства, он меньше всего заботился о судьбе евреев. Доктор Лустиг, которого он мыслит президентом этого государства, становится для него козырной картой в этой игре. Ему необходим �свой� президент будущего Израиля, а сам Израиль как семнадцатая республика СССР.
Книга написана ярко и увлекательно, полна точных и тонких наблюдений не только над психологией самого доктора Лустига, с точки зрения одних �бесчувственного антисемита�, с точки зрения других – спасителя евреев, но также советских и фашистских лидеров: Сталина, Абакумова, Молотова, Берии, Эйхмана, Гесса и др.
Александр Тавровский из тех писателей, книги которых не забываются. Прочтя одну из них, непременно хочешь прочесть и все другие.
