I find that for this type of product, if you need the book you need the book and ratings won't sway you either way. The price here was good and the book came in acceptable condition.

Good textbook for drafting original work

I'm a paralegal student in Alabama, and this book was our text for a transactional drafting class. While I know I will probably never have to draft a contract or agreement from scratch, this book will be on my desk if I do.
The first chapters deal with drafting in general--proper English (grammar), good punctuation, and form. The later chapters deal with specifics--ambiguity, vague references, the dreaded and/or, and lists.
The book is an easy read--I would guess the typeface is a 12- or 14-point. Some of it is a little too simplistic, but for the most part it's right on target. There were several of us taking both this drafting class and another writing class this term, and the second professor made a comment about our writing getting more concise and to the point. This book must be getting it into our heads!
