Up to Date and Highly Useful

I work with copyright questions from all parts of the world, and I keep a collection of books on copyright from different countries. I have been delighted to add this one to my collection and to use it as a great reference guide. The books is a survey of copyright law in Canada that will be informative for all readers, regardless of point of view and regardless of industry. Readers in need of copyright information about all types of works, from books software to music and films, will find this overview helpful. The writing is clear and the explanations lucid. I have been undertaking a study of copyright exceptions for WIPO, and I am currently turning to Harris's tome to give me foundational knowledge about Canadian law and to help assure that I have placed my specific interests in the context of the larger scheme of copyright in her home country. The book is aimed at readers who are intelligent, but not copyright specialists, so it will be an especially welcome addition to the literature for authors, educators, and other creative individuals who need to grasp the principles. The book does not offer the depth that could possibly substitute for legal advice, but that is certainly not its purpose.
